Naish tops Capitol foreign sales ops

Variety

Peter Naish has joined David Bergstein's Capitol Films as co-managing director, with responsibility for the foreign sales operations at both Capitol and its sister company ThinkFilm.
Naish was previously head of distribution at Icon Entertainment Intl.

He will run Capitol alongside co-managing director Nick Hill, who is responsible for operations and the company's planned push into direct distribution.

Hill previously led Capitol in tandem with Jane Barclay, one of the company's co-founders, who sold out to Bergstein a year ago but stayed on as an exec. Barclay was not mentioned in the announcement of Naish's appointment, but insiders said she is moving to a role yet to be disclosed.

Capitol's head of sales James Norrie and ThinkFilm Intl. sales topper Eve Schoukroun will all report to Naish.

The company's slate includes John Maybury's "The Best Time of Our Lives," Sharon Maguire's "Incendiary" and Sidney Lumet's "Before the Devil Knows You're Dead."
